Electricity and natural gas tariffs are increased: Electricity and natural gas tariffs are increased 9% and 14% respectively for residential and industrial usages, and 49.5% for electricity producers…  We expect cement stocks to get negatively affected from the price hike, as electricity accounts to c.20-25% of their total COGS. Considering the natural gas price increase of 14%, all glass companies (ANACM, TRKCM, SISE) get negatively affected from the price hike as they constitute on average c.15% of total COGS.  Meanwhile Soda Sanayii, due to using natural gas from steam generation (and using steam to produce electricity and sell to the market) will get affected from the 49.5% increase. We calculate the impact from the increase to result in 6-7% EBITDA contraction compared to our 2018 forecasts, while its impact on 2019F should be around 10%. Please note that natural gas has c.15% share in Soda’s COGS also, and we assumed c.50% of the cost inflation to be reflected to sales via higher electricity prices and slight increase in chemical prices thanks to expected plant closures in the global market. The news is negative for electricity producers who has natural gas power plants.

Haberin elektrik kullanımı yüksek olan çimento şirketleri için, doğal gaz tüketimi ise yüksek olan cam şirketleri için negatif olmasını bekliyoruz. Soda Sanayii satın aldığı doğalgazı üretiminde kullandıktan sonra elektrik satışı için de kullandığından %49.5’lik zamma maruz kalacaktır. Elektrik santrallerine yapılan zammın ise doğalgaz santrali olan elektrik şirketleri için negatif olmasını bekliyoruz.
