(+) Istanbul Havalimanı’na taşınma Mart ayına ertelendi Yıl sonunda yapılması planlanan taşınma Mart ayına ertelendi. Yeni havalimanına taşınmadan ötürü oluşabilecek maliyet artışları piyasada bir miktar belirsizlik oluşturuyordu. Erteleme ile THY’nin taşınmaya hazırlık süreci artacağından dolayı olası maliyet artışları daha sınırlı olabilir. Haberi hisse için olumlu olarak değerlendiriyoruz.

(+) The move from Ataturk Airport to Istanbul Airport delayed until March Following the meeting taken by IGA, Airport Authority  and The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the big move from Ataturk Airport to Istabul Airport is postponed to March which had been initially planned by the end of the year. The potential delay has already been discussing by the authorities and  expectations for a potential delay in the market was strong considering the aim of the airport authority to minimize ramp-up period in the new airport. We welcome the news for THY given the recent delay point to a limited negative impact from the ramp-up period in the nearing quarters especially. Currently, the company has been enjoying from lower fuel costs and higher passenger yields on strong profitable direct passenger growth while the ramp-up costs in 1Q has been creating some concerns in the market despite its solid future prospects. Now, the near-term uncertainty should disappear on the delay, and extending the transfer over a period of time should minimize the ramp-up costs as the company has more time to structure its operations in the new airport.
