"Volkswagen Türkiye’de fabrika yatırımına hazırlanıyor"

(=) Dogus Otomotiv - Volkswagen to make plant investment in Turkey / Neutral at this stage It was reported that Volkswagen has decided to make a new plant investment in Turkey. The new plant is planned to employ 5,000 people and produce Skoda Karoq and Seat Ateca models (these models are currently produced in VW’s Czech Republic plant). The commissioning of the plant is expected to take place in 2022. The investment decision is part of Volkswagen new global strategy to become leader in electric vehicle (EV) production. In order to open space for EV production in German plants, VW is re-allocating production in its factories. While Passat model production will move from Germany to Chech Republic, Karoq and Ateca models will reportedly move to Turkish plant. The news is obviously positive for Turkish automotive sector and supply industry. At this stage we do not know if Dogus Otomotiv will have any role in this investment or it will continue to solely carry-out the distribution business. In any case, we think that VW’s (hence Dogus Otomotiv’s) positioning in Turkey may strengthen to a degree.

Fabrika’da Skoda Karoq ve Seat Ateca modellerinin üretilmesi planlanıyor (bu modeller şu anda VW’nin Çek Cumhuriyeti fabrikasında üretiliyor). Fabrikanın üretime ise 2022’de yılında başlaması bekleniyor. Haber Türk otomotiv sektörü ve yan sanayi için pozitif. Ancak bu aşamada Dogus Otomotiv’in bu yatırım içerisinde yer alıp almayacağını bilmiyoruz. Fakat her ihtimalde de VW’nin (dolayısıyla Dogus Otomotiv’in) Türkiye’deki konumlanmasının bir dereceye kadar güçlenmesini bekleriz.
